Ubuntu Hair Studio in owned and operated by Dawn Ellinwood who is an expertly trained and established colorist with over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry. Dawn’s work has been acknowledged and featured in numerous magazines and movies over the years such as Marie Claire and Legally Blonde.
As her career has evolved, Dawn has studied various aspects of custom hair care and color, most recently being that of addressing the needs of aging hair. She has begun a deep dive into educating herself in the newest anti-aging rituals and techniques for hair, including studying trichology, which is the science of the structure, function, and diseases of the human hair and scalp.
In modern society, trichology is perceived as the “bridge between cosmetology and dermatology'" and trichologists adapt a holistic approach to treatment, taking into account many different factors for each individual, such as lifestyle, diet and wellbeing, as well as the signs and symptoms present.
As Dawn continues to expand her knowledge, she plans to curate specific products that support hair growth and scalp health. Product lines Ubuntu currently works with include Milbon, Nutrafol, and Agent nature.
